The Necessities of Computing

Well ... I was doing so well at keeping up with the blog but sadly I have become sidetracked.  I've decided to cull through the cubic yards upon yards of accumulated crap priceless treasures and purge and then organize.  My project for this week and next is to organize all things disc.  We have stacks of burned CDs, photo CDs, back up CDs, installation software, games, music, and DVDs.  Oy.  Anywho ... today I sat down to process through the beauty that is my computer armoire.  We decided long ago to have a "family" computer that is centrally located to avoid the pitfalls of any Zoë/chatroom/To Catch a Predator scenarios.  David has a computer of his own since that is how he makes the big bucks to support this family and their many disc-related purchases.  It makes sense.  The family computer is located adjacent to the dining room and kitchen, accessible for recipe searching and monitoring of computer time etc ....  Safe to say it is the hub of our day to day existence and apparently where all things come to die.  Today, while sorting through the muck organizing the gagillion and one pieces of children's software, I gathered these crucial items to any technological endeavor.

Pardon the darkness of the image and allow me to jot down the items should you desire to acquire them for your own home computer:

  1. Handy Dandy Notebook a la Steve (Joe is bad.  We hate Joe)
  2. Empty Snicker Fun Size Bar apparently ripped open with teeth (damned dogs and their snicker eating ... ahem)
  3. Sponge clown nose (you know you have one - fess up.  And if you don't have one already, you want one.)
  4. Wooden rail car awaiting dispensation to one 2.5 year old should she ever decide that poop does in fact go in the potty
  5. Jingle bell bracelet (one of a set given to young children by evil well-intentioned mother in law)
  6. Hair accessories abjectly dismissed from toddler's head.

Oh well ... I have half of the armoire done but must take a mommy time out to retrieve Zoë from school and cook dinner.
