Well ... we made it. School is out! Zoë is officially a 5th grader and is living it up at summer camp in the Hill Country. I dropped her off on Sunday and pick her up Friday.
Here she is in front of her bunk. Hers is the top one decked out in an egg crate, mattress cover, 400 thread count sheets, and her favorite Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends blanket and as many of her stuffed animals as she could squeeze into her already very full trunk. I'm pretty sure her counselor mocked the "high maintenance" bedding but I'm also pretty sure she was just jealous. I have no doubt Zoë had the best bed in all of camp. 2 seconds after I took this picture, I got THE LOOK. Ya know ... the look that says ba-bye ... get along ... scram. Ouch. I have yet to get that look. Anyway ... I hope she is having a great time. I really miss her and check the camp website maniacally for a chance glimpse of her in the candid camp pics they post for loser parents such as myself. So far I have seen her butt and left leg and her arms and water bottle. Leave it to my child to make sure she isn't REALLY in any of the pictures.
Here is Zoë in her "what do you mean today is 80's dress day at school? Would have been nice to know" outfit that I threw together 20 minutes before we had to leave. Friends ... this is what I looked like in the 80's. The mini skirt is hers, the shirt and socks are David's, the scarf/belt is mine and the mesh gloves and necklaces and bracelets are from the dress up box.
Sadie with her new favorite thing ... "wowwypops". She cons them from as many people as possible. Bank tellers are defenseless against her big blue eyes. She usually scores 4 or 5 per drive thru transaction.
